We all easily fell into saying “delena way”, but what actually is this way about?
If I set myself a task of giffing every meaningful DE moment, I would have to gif almost the whole show. Because every talk they had is meaningful. Every act they did has consequences. And first of all it was Elena’s way and Damon’s way. But somewhere across her way she decided he was worthy to be saved. Somewhere across his road he decided she could be trusted. Somewhere across their way they understood that they cared about each other’s not only physical condition, but the mental condition as well. From my point of view it is where Delena begins. I can’t say they were the pair since they first met, no. The most amazing thing about them is their story isn’t about “Girl met boy, boy met girl - love”. It is the long road with mistakes, ups and downs, development and connection. We had the first season where they met each other, where they were trying to explore each other, to understand who they were and how they could exist at the same universe. Then it was a second season, and they faced the problems with their past, they understood that everything could not be fine all the time and they have to respect each other’s opinions and personal spaces. And what is more important they almost lost each other, because this fact made them to value their feelings. And finally it is the third season, when the things start to be more clear. And all this way they actually haven’t been on the same page, not really, until the last Thursday night. The Damon way finally met the Elena way in this kiss. At this moment they felt the same, they act the same, they were the one person. It’s not about betraying Stefan. It’s about Damon and Elena. They suffered through a lot of things to find their second part at the end, to find their home and person who can be trusted, and loved, and felt like they are finally not alone at their ways.
